Anti Aging Skin Care - Know The Skin Your In And Where To Begin

Lines can tell a lot about the skin you've got. Just like how they cut down a tree and count the rings to determine it's age, fine lines can tell just how old your skin is- and might I say that there is absolutely nothing fine about that, unless, of course, there isn't all that much to count to begin with (but then again, we all start out that way with smooth supple skin, don't we?).
Along with texture and tone, the whole bit about your age not matching that of your skin's can actually work both ways. It can take away the years just as easily as it can add them on. Naturally, one would prefer the former over the latter any given day. However, unless you are one of the blessed few (and I mean really, really far between) keeping that youthful glow does not just come, well, naturally. It takes care, and effort.
Know The Skin You're In To Know Where To Begin
But when should the whole anti aging routine begin? And even worse, is it possible to be too old for it? Although clichéd, it is never too late. But do remember, yet another cliché that is absolutely 100% true- prevention is better than cure. Always.
Below 20
If you're reading this and you still haven't reached your 20s, well then you are in luck. God, or whatever higher power you believe in, or even Darwin, has given you a good 20 anti aging care free years. That's right- two whole decades of fun in the sun, with or without sunscreen (although it still is highly advisable to slather some on unless you want to deal with the pains of sunburn- where's the fun in that?). Take this advice - Take it easy on the tan.
In Your 20s
Ah, to be in your 20s - fresh graduates, so full of life, the world is in your hands, really smooth, soft, supple, radiant, glowing hands to be exact. You could say that this is the time when your skin is at it's peak. Of course, nothing beats the smoothness of a baby's behind, but at least you are way past those awkward teen years of breakouts and whatnot.
But if you want to keep it that way, or as close as possible anyway, you will have to hop on the anti aging bandwagon and start with sunscreen, moisturizer, and a good exfoliating scrub.
In Your 30s
Still smooth, however, that youthful glow might have probably dimmed a bit. Faint lines will usually being to appear, especially around the eye area. You may notice that your skin might be even a bit dryer and have a couple of flaky spots. But nothing too big to handle.
Of course, you still want to continue what you have started, but add a good eye cream to the mix.
In Your 40s
The older you get, the more rough spots you have, literally on your skin. 40s is also the time of slight discoloration. So you may notice a couple of brown spots here and there. Unfortunately, this is also when the laugh lines will become more visible even when there isn't anything funny at all (I mean even when your face is totally relaxed).
Just as mentioned earlier, you still want to keep on using your sun block, moisturizer, exfoliant, and eye cream, but it is time to bring out the big guns and add peptides and retinol cream to your anti aging beauty regimen.
50s And Beyond
When you hit the big 5-0, you can expect quite a bit of a change. This is the time when wrinkles are much more noticeable, that youthful glow is rather dull (but not dead!), if you thought discoloration was bad, well let me introduce you to age spots. Let's not even get into sagging.
Again, keep up the good work. Remember that what you have just read is the worst case scenario and people age differently. And it is exactly because of that that this is pretty much the time to ditch that over the counter stuff and go to a pro to get a prescription to match your needs perfectly.
And So...
